The zoo's existing maintenance road could be converted into a family-friendly bike path to provide a level, safe route connecting to the Beltline along Park Avenue.

Grant Park History Center: 2025 Vision

Creating a Grant Park History Center and Atlanta Map Room adjacent to Fort Walker would potentially double the footprint of the current zoo maintenance facility, without tree removal. By including two additional levels for interpretive exhibits and archival space above, the total building space would be nine times larger than the current size. A pedestrian suspension bridge could connect the upper deck to Fort Walker.

Atlanta Map Room - Georgia Tech's Local Data Design Lab combines contemporary data, historical documents, and personal stories.
